Crown Casino Perth faced a significant safety issue in its entrance foyer, where the original ceiling-lined sheets were peeling away, posing a risk of falling objects. The project required scaffold construction over two escalators and two stair accesses, while keeping the area open to pedestrian access during scaffold erection and subsequent work. This presented the dual challenge of maintaining public safety and ensuring uninterrupted access to the casino.

The scaffold was erected in two halves, allowing continuous public access. Key measures included maintaining pedestrian pathways, using barricades and spotters for safety, and keeping the escalators operational.
